Fish Species
Here are some of the more common species found in Lake of the Woods.

- Walleye - the most sought-after fish in Minnesota.
- Sauger - sometimes called the "sand pike," is a relative of the walleye.
- Northern Pike - one of the easiest fish to catch because it so willingly bites lures or bait.
- Yellow Perch - smaller cousin of the walleye is good to eat and eagerly bites worms.
- Muskelunge - one of the largest and most elusive fish,
- Crappie
- Largemouth Bass - with their jolting strikes and wild airborne leaps, are an exciting fish to catch.
- Smallmouth Bass - one of the strongest fish for its weight.
- Lake Sturgeon - Minnesota's biggest fish. It can weigh more than an adult human.
